Chik’nPop is signature-seasoned mushroom popcorn: bold umami, a little heat, and a lotta crunch. Founder Sam Feldotto developed the seasoning around the flavor he wanted in every handful. The blend is vegan and gluten free, and the popcorn is the first place we’re putting it to work.
There is no single flavor shortcut that tells the whole story. The seasoning, the amount on each piece, and the shape underneath it all matter. We chose them together.
Flavor gets the first word
We choose ingredients for what they bring to the finished snack. That includes MSG, which contributes savory depth. We use it deliberately and will list it by name. You can read our MSG explainer for the science, the history, and the distinction between added MSG and naturally occurring glutamate.
A recipe can be thoughtful without turning the bag into a wellness pitch. Our promise starts with a snack you want to eat. Chik’nPop popcorn is vegan and gluten free; those facts describe the product, not a guarantee that it suits every diet. The final label will carry the complete ingredient and nutrition information.
Why the kernel mattered
We use mushroom kernels, which pop into a rounded shape. That shape gives us the format we want for a boldly seasoned snack. It is one of the details we are proud of, even if it makes us the people at the party talking about kernel varieties.
Mushroom popcorn is corn, not a mushroom-flavored ingredient. It also still has a hull. We prefer the rounded form for this product without promising that it is literally hull-free or can never get stuck in your teeth. The kernel comparison explains where shape is useful and where marketing can get carried away.
Then the seasoning met a pretzel
Chik’nStix takes the same signature seasoning into pretzel territory. The difference is the base and the bite. Popcorn brings an airy format; pretzels give the flavor another kind of crunch. The lineup shares a family resemblance without asking both snacks to be identical.
The dietary details belong to each finished product. Chik’nPop popcorn is vegan and gluten free. Chik’nStix is a separate pretzel product, so a gluten-free claim about the seasoning or the popcorn does not establish that the pretzels are gluten free. Final product labels will be the place to check the full ingredients and allergens.
Where the story is now
We are preparing for a US launch and building the waitlist. Chik’nPop and Chik’nStix are not available to order on this site yet. There is no release date, price, or shipping promise hidden behind the signup form. When ordering opens, the availability email will do its job.
The pre-sale signup offer is a first bag of Chik’nPop popcorn free. Leave your email on the waitlist, opt in to updates, and we will email you when the bag is ready. Until then, we are using the journal to share the flavor ideas, buying considerations, and snack plans that belong around the product.
If you have a question the site does not answer, write to hello@chiknpop.com. Good questions are welcome. Requests for the chicken’s acting résumé may take longer.
